EX1900 Bucket Rebuild: A Workshop Highlight
Our workshop team recently completed a rebuild on a Hitachi EX1900 bucket lip, Here’s what went into this impressive rebuild:
- 100mm thick high-tensile plate: The bucket lip was cut, shaped, and bevelled, ensuring strength and durability for the toughest conditions.
- MTG Starmet adapters: These high-performance adapters were welded on, enhancing wear resistance and extending the lifespan of the bucket.
- 70kg of welding wire: Some sections required up to 15 runs.
- Temperature-controlled welding: To maintain structural integrity, the entire lip was heated to 150-200°C before & during all welding operations.
- Additional wear strips: added on top of the adapters and behind the adapters and at each ends of the lip.
- Oversized lip protectors: Added for extra edge protection.
